Maripat Sexton

SENIOR STRATEGIST

Maripat is an accomplished corporate affairs leader with deep expertise in designing and executing reputation work for Fortune 500 energy companies.  With more than 35 years of experience in public affairs, Maripat has worked in strategic corporate communications, government relations, policy, social engagement and reputation management. 

Maripat most recently led Woodside Energy’s corporate affairs across the US, Senegal, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, and Canada, overseeing government relations, communications, and social performance. Prior to this work, Maripat spent more than 10 years at BHP where she directed international brand positioning and designed a company-wide opinion research strategy from Australia. Maripat also served as Head of Corporate Affairs for BHP in North America, overseeing all mining and petroleum corporate affairs in the region. She also managed global E&P corporate affairs for Hess Corporation and began her career at Texaco (later Chevron), eventually serving as director for upstream public and government affairs, overseeing public affairs work in Africa, Latin America, and Europe. Maripat has also represented Woodside on the Greentown Labs Advisory Panel, is a member of Women in Energy Leadership Circle, and has served on various committees for the American Petroleum Institute (API) and the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM).

Maripat has a BA from Seton Hall University and an MBA from St. Thomas University.
